Velika Beach

Located just a few minutes walk from the old town and with spacious parking, Velika Beach is the largest and most popular sandy beach in Omiš. It is very suitable for children because of the shallow waters that extend up to 100 meters from the shore, On Velika Beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas or partake in various fun activities such as jet-skiing, renting boats or kayaks, sea trampolines, and beach volleyball. If you want to hide from the sun, look for refreshments in a restaurant, cafe, or pastry shop located on the beach.

Brzet

Brzet is a very popular beach on the Omiš Riviera. Getting to the beach will not take you more than 15 minutes on foot from the old town. Beautiful pebbles, easy accessibility, a clear sea, and plenty of natural shade are the right choices for families with children. Deckchairs and umbrellas can be rented on the beach, and it is equipped with showers and changing cabins. Paddle boats and jet skis are also available for renting on the beach.

Nemira Beach

In the small village of Nemira, only 3 km from Omiš, there are two pebble beaches. Bordered by a dense pine forest that provides plenty of shade and is located under the highway, far from the hustle and bustle of traffic, Nemir's beaches are ideal for families with small children. Even though they are away from the noise of the city, they are not deprived of basic facilities such as cafes, shops, and restaurants.

Duće Beach

A series of 6 km of sandy beaches make Duce one of the most popular places for swimming, especially for families with small children. The specialty of Duće Beach is that the cafes and restaurants are located right next to the coast, so during breaks from swimming you can treat yourself to Dalmatian specialties or simply sip a refreshing drink. Beach chairs, paddle boats, and jet skis are also available for rent on this long stretch of sandy beaches.

Ruskamen Beach

The location of the fortress makes it almost impervious to conquest and it is one of the reasons Omiš was never conquered by the enemy. At the end of July and beginning of August manifestation called The Pirate Evenings is organized in Omiš during which various events take place in and around Omiš. The culmination of this manifestation is a simulation of a battle between the pirates and Venetians. Featuring real boats, the battle takes place in the city port. This manifestation evokes the rich piracy tradition of the region, and it is an event that everyone can enjoy.

How to get to Omis?

Although surrounded by mountains and with a river that divides the town, Omiš is surprisingly very accessible.

By airplane

The most convenient way to reach Omiš is by plane. Split International Airport is located approximately 40 kilometers from Omiš. This international airport has well-established connections with most of the bigger European cities throughout the year, especially during the season (from May to October). From the airport, it is easy to choose to reach Omiš either by renting a car or hiring a private transfer.

By car

Croatia has a good network of highways and state roads so your trip to Omiš will be an enjoyable adventure. If you are coming to Omiš from the north (Zagreb), take the E65 highway to reach Split, where you join the D8 state road. It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes of easy driving to reach the center of Omiš. Alternatively, you can exit the highway at the Blato na Cetina exit, from which you can reach your destination in half an hour on the state road D70. This route is not recommended for campers and other larger vehicles.

Weather in Omis

Omiš enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Summers (July and August) are dry and hot which makes them ideal for sea and sun activities on the beach or rafting on river Cetina.

Spring (May and June) and autumn (September and October) are ideal for all sorts of outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and generally enjoying nature.
