Which Part of Croatia Has the Nicest Beaches?

Beach villas in Croatia are available on both the islands and the mainland. Croatia has a long coastline and over 1,000 islands, and no matter which destinations you choose, you’ll be able to find beach villas.

If you’re looking for luxury beachfront villas in Croatia, VIP Holiday Booker offers a wide variety of beachfront villas along the entire Croatian coast, from Dubrovnik to Istria, including the islands.

Island Beaches: Brac and Hvar

Some of the best beaches in Croatia are on the islands.

Golden Cape Beach in Bol on Brac Island, Croatia

Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape) Beach in Bol on Brac Island, Croatia

Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape) Beach is perhaps the most famous beach in Croatia and one of the most beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean. This postcard-worthy beach is located in Bol Town on the Brac Island. It changes shape as tides change, and it’s very popular among windsurfers.

Our second island beach is Palmizana, located on the Paklinski Islands near Hvar. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax, away from the crowds of Hvar, it’s the perfect place. There are several swimming areas and many amenities like beach bars and restaurants.

Beaches on Makarska Riviera

Makarska Riviera stretches over 60 kilometres, from Omis in the North to the Neretva River in the South. It’s also home to some of the best beaches on the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.

Our personal favourite is Punta Rata Beach in Brela, situated on a cape and surrounded by pine and palm trees. You can recognize it by a huge rock that sits at the end of the bay, with a pine tree on the top of it. This pebbly beach with its turquoise sea has received numerous awards as one of the most beautiful in Europe.

Beaches in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is at the very south of Croatia, where the sea is the warmest, so it’s suitable for swimming from Spring until Autumn.

Banje Beach with view of Dubrovnik Old Town

Banje Beach is one of our favourite beaches in Dubrovnik, especially for its scenic view of the City Walls and proximity to the Old Town. We recommend this beach especially to those visiting Dubrovnik in September, since the crowds are smaller.

What is Considered a Beach Villa in Croatia?

Villa Sea Suprema Trogir

Villa Sea Suprema Trogir

A “beach villa” is usually a villa that’s close to the beach or the sea. Usually, this means that the villa has direct sea access or you only have to cross the street to enter the sea.

While there are no private beaches in Croatia, you can access some beaches only from the villa or from the sea, so it’s pretty safe to say you’ll have undisturbed privacy.

In Croatia, beaches near villas are mostly pebbly or rocky. There are only a handful of sandy beaches.

What to Expect When Booking a Beach Villa in Croatia

If you’re not sure what to expect on your beach villa holiday in Croatia, here is some useful information.

Do Beach Villas in Croatia Have Private Pools?

Yes, almost all of our beach villas feature private pools, even though they are just steps away from the sea. This gives you a perfect opportunity to explore the best of both worlds: swimming in the crystal clear Adriatic Sea and enjoying your private pool.

Are Beach Villas Fully Private?

Yes, most of our luxury villas offer full privacy, meaning your group is completely alone and there are no other guests on the property. The pool and outdoor area are also only for your use.

However, most villas have staff hired to keep the property clean and tidy. Their main goal is to make your beach villa holidays comfortable, so if you don’t want any visits, please let your agent know.

Also, some villas are in remote locations, but more often than not, they do have neighbours. So, while you’re alone on your property, you have to be mindful of other guests or locals who live in the area.

Do Beach Villas Have Sea Views?

Yes, beach villas are right by the sea, so you can also expect a stunning sea view.

Most often, you can enjoy the sea views from the pool terrace, living area, and at least one of the bedrooms. Some luxury beach villas have sea views from all bedrooms.

Are Beach Villas Air-Conditioned and Equipped with Wi-Fi?

Yes, all of our villas have Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Most of the villas have air conditioning in the living areas and in all of the bedrooms. We recommend asking your booking agent for more specific information.

Do Beach Villas Have Outdoor Dining Areas or Barbecues?

Not every beach villa has an outdoor dining area or barbecue, but many of our villas do.

Outdoor dining areas are usually set on terraces, patios, or on the pool terrace. It’s the perfect way of enjoying Mediterranean meals with a relaxing sea view.

They also typically have a summer kitchen with a gas or wood barbecue. It’s important to note that the amenities and settings vary depending on the villa, so it’s best to carefully look through the photo gallery and ask your concierge agent for better clarification.

How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Beach Villa in Croatia?

Villa Grain of Salt on Korcula

Villa Grain of Salt on Korcula

There’s no “one price fits all”, as prices vary depending on the destinations, villa’s capacity and amenities, your travel dates, and several other factors. However, the general range is €600 – €900 per night. Premium villas often cost €1,200+ per night, but they usually have more (5+) bedrooms, large pools, and prime locations.

Are Beach Villas More Expensive than Inland Villas?

Yes, if you look up two villas of similar amenities, and one is closer to the beach, it will usually be more expensive. Why’s that?

Beachfront land is limited, with strict construction regulations, so there are more inland than beachfront villas. Also, beach villas offer immediate access to the sea with uninterrupted views. This makes them more attractive to most guests, so there’s a higher demand.

This all adds a unique value to the price of beach villas in Croatia.

What is Included in the Price of a Beach Villa?

When you book a villa with VIP Holiday Booker, you get exclusive access to the entire villa and its on-site amenities for the selected dates. This includes the living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor space with a private pool, and more.

Standard utilities like electricity, water, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning are included in most villas, too. However, in some villas, you’ll have to pay a fee for pool heating.

The villa will be cleaned upon arrival and after departure, but you should confirm with your agent if additional housekeeping is part of your booking.

All guests who book a villa with VIP Holiday Booker get a personal VIP Concierge agent who provides direct booking support during the booking process and throughout their entire stay. This service includes arranging airport transfers or a private driver, hiring a private chef, organizing meal pre-stocking, making restaurant reservations, confirming day trips and boat tours, and more. However, the prices of arranged services are not included in the villa price.

Additionally, if you opt for optional travel cancellation insurance (e.g. VIP Holiday Booker has partnered with Allianz), the price of your beach villa includes a refund protection.

Are There Additional Costs for Beachfront Locations?

No, apart from the slight price difference between some villas, there are no additional fees for beach villas.
