Beaches on Makarska Riviera
Makarska is known for its lovely pebble beaches. Actually, you can find them everywhere at the Makarska Riviera. Some of the most popular are in Brela (Punta Rata beach), Baska Voda, and Tucepi. There is even an FKK beach called Nugal. It is between Tucepi and Makarska and it is only reachable on foot.

Most of these pebble beaches are family-friendly and there are numerous water attractions you can try there such as inflatable aquaparks, parasailing, and other water sports activities suitable for children and adults.

There is also a possibility to rent parasols and sunbeds for relaxation on almost every beach.
About the town
In the city, you will find a promenade with numerous souvenir shops and cafes, and restaurants.

Viewpoint Skywalk Biokovo
This is probably the most popular sight near Makarska. It is a viewpoint at the mountain Biokovo where you will enjoy a panoramic sea view of the whole Riviera and the Adriatic sea.

Nevertheless, we feel we should warn you to go early in the morning due to the crowds. At noon it is not crowded but the sun is too hot there during the summer months. Furthermore, the road there is a mountain road and it is difficult to pass.

Kalalarga is a tavern we recommend you to visit if you wish to experience the Mediterranean way of life with fresh fish and local wines. The cuisine is simple but creative. Their meat meals are also good especially steaks.

This is another Mediterranean restaurant in Makarska downtown. Their meals are creatively arranged. Grilled fish, risotto, and desserts are their forte.

Regarding Makarska riviera, we have 2 places we wish to recommend in Baska Voda and one in Tucepi.
The first in Baska Voda is Restaurant King with fresh ingredients, nice service, and a good chef. You can order from seafood to meat or desserts.

The second place in Baska Voda is a restaurant named Del Posto. It is a restaurant of the Grand Hotel Slavia and it includes a terrace with a sea view and a wine bar. It is a modern restaurant with fish and meat specialties.

Restaurant Jeny in Tucepi is a fine dining restaurant that is even in Michelin guide. It is a family-owned restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea. The restaurant also includes wine tastings.

Nightlife in Makarska
There are two nightclubs we recommend in Makarska. One is situated on St. Peter's peninsula. It is the Macarana club (mostly regional music) and the other is at the other side of Makarska at the Osejava peninsula. Actually, the Deep club is located in a cave.
At the moment, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you will need to have a negative COVID-19 test or certificate of past illness or vaccination prior to entrance to both clubs.

Zipline Tucepi
For those who are looking for an active vacation, we recommend Zipline Tucepi where you slide down the steel cable over the canyon of Tucepi. The view is amazing and even kids can participate.

Imotski lakes (Red and Blue) are also interesting. You can walk to the Blue lake and try to toss a pebble in the Red lake. People say that it is impossible to reach the lake. So why don't you try?

Day trips from Makarska
Once you get tired of Makarska Riviera beaches, activities, and gastronomy (we assure you that won't be soon) we recommend you take a day trip from Makarska. We will mention several options and our VIP Concierge Team can help you organize them.

- Dubrovnik Old Town and its famous city walls (app. 2,5-hour drive from Makarska)

- Omis with its lovely sandy beaches and lots of possibilities for an active day trip such as white water rafting or zipline over the Cetina River and canyon. (Omis is about a 1-hour drive from Makarska)

- Split with its Diocletian's Palace that is 1.700 years old. We recommend you take a 1-hour guided tour to learn more. Split is about a 1,5-hour drive from Makarska depending on the traffic.

Boat day tours from Makarska
From Makarska, you can also take a private boat trou or excursion boat to the islands of Brac, Korcula, and Hvar. There is also a ferry connection to Hvar from Drvenik on the Makarska Riviera (if you wish to explore it on your own).

We recommend you to stay at least 3 -4 hours to explore the park. It is so beautiful. On your way back you can visit Sibenik or Primosten for a meal. The Primosten area is also famous for vineyards and there are several great winetasting options nearby. Just contact our VIP Concierge Department for help if you are interested. This trip is about 2 hours from Makarska.

This option is interesting for those with kids. It is a visit to Solaris Aquapark near Sibenik. That is also about a 2-hour drive from Makarska.
