How to get to Hvar Island from Split and the mainland
Since Hvar is the most popular during the summer season the most frequent question is what is the best way to get to Hvar.
Below in the text, you can find the possibilities of getting to Hvar island from the mainland, from the most affordable option to the most expensive and the most comfortable option. You can choose between four options.
1. The ferry line from Split (mainland) to Stari Grad (Hvar island)
Stari Grad is the main car ferry terminal and it is located 20 kilometers from Hvar town (approximately 25 minutes by car).

The first and the most economical option for getting to Hvar is by ferry line that operates from Split town to Stari Grad on Hvar island on a regular basis. Stari Grad is the ferry port of Hvar and if you prefer traveling by car, this is your only option.
There are several Split to Hvar ferries (Stari Grad) daily and Stari Grad Hvar to Split ferry lines, and it changes according to the season (out of season, low and high season):

2. The catamaran (fast ferry) line connecting Split (mainland) and Hvar town (Hvar island)
If you want to head directly to Hvar town and you are not going by car but still want to save money, the best option is to purchase tickets for the catamaran (fast ferry). There are several fast lines daily, in low season two times a day, and in high season three-four times a day. You can book through Jadrolinija company, TP Line, or through Kapetan Luka - Krilo company.

3. The ferry line from Drvenik (mainland) to Sucuraj (Hvar island)
Sucuraj is located on the eastern tip of Hvar Island. Guests that arrive from Dubrovnik or from any southern area and want to reach Hvar can go to Drvenik and take a ferry that goes to Sucuraj. The crossing from Drvenik to Sucuraj lasts 30 minutes. The ride from Sucuraj to Hvar town lasts approximately 1 hour and a half.

4. A private speedboat transfer from the airport to Hvar Island

How to get to Hvar island from the neighboring islands and from Dubrovnik
