Top 5 Pet-Friendly Beaches in Croatia

Becuase we know our guests love to take their pets on vacation, we have decided to write a blog with the list of beaches for dogs along the Croatian coast from Istria to Dalmatia and on the islands.

Before you start reading, make sure to check out top pet-friendly villas in Croatia as well.

In this blog, we will write about the pet-friendly beaches, the destinations where they are located, and also about villas situated in these destinations.

1. Podvorska Beach in Crikvenica

Podvorska is one of the best dog beaches in Croatia. The beach and its surroundings are perfectly groomed. The beach bar keeps the atmosphere great and lets you relax. The beach bar is called Monty. The owners own a dog hotel as well. For this reason, all the facilities are adjusted for pets. Thus, in Monty Beach Bar your dog can drink a dog beer or enjoy a snack of dog chips. There are dog showers and a lounge area at the beach and this is why it is rightfully called the best dog beach in Croatia!

Furthermore, Crikvenica is a great location for an active vacation with several National Parks nearby – Plitvice, Brijuni, Risnjak, Northern Velebit, and Krka. We are sure your pet will love these day trips.

2. Zarace Beach on Hvar island

Part of it is reserved for dogs. Zarace is situated on the south side of the island of Hvar. It is near the town of Hvar which is the center of fun on the island (app. 6 km from it). The small, picturesque village has a bay with pebble beaches, part of them reserved for dogs.

Other Dog Beaches on Hvar Island

Of course, there are other beaches for dogs on Hvar island.

On the Northside there is Gradina just 1km from Jelsa towards hotel Hvar and Vrboska beach on Glavice peninsula. On the Southside there is Ivan Dolac beach near the main beach and Zavala beach in the main bay of the village.

3. Duilovo beach in Split

A couple of years ago part of the Duilovo beach in Split became a dog beach. It is relatively small as it includes approximately 40m of the pebble beach.

Nearby you will find a shower and shade where your pet can relax during the hot hours of the day. You will also find water bowls and trash cans there.

The beach is situated at the entrance to Komiza. It is a sheltered pebble beach, perfect for the enjoyment of you and your pet. Popularly called Dog beach, Vartalac is the only beach and the island of Vis that is specialized for pet swimming.

This beach is situated in the Arena Stupice camp, but actually, the whole of the Kamenjak Horn is pet-friendly.

Beach is spacious and there is a nice entrance to the sea that is just perfect for pets.

You can also relax there with your furry friend and enjoy the great view with a drink as a seafront bar is a part of the camp.
