How to get to Kvarner?
Kvarner is situated in the northern part of the Croatian coast, and it is very well connected via an extensive road network. On Krk Island, a very popular tourist center, Rijeka International Airport is located, and the island is connected with the mainland via a bridge. There is a bridge toll you need to pay for the crossing.
There are several ways to get to Kvarner:
1. By plane:
Rijeka Airport, located on Krk Island, is the only airport in Kvarner. During the season, there are direct flights from several major European cities to the airport. The Krk Island is connected to the mainland by the Krk bridge and has good ferry lines with the surrounding islands. Also, Pula International Airport is just under a 1-hour drive from Kvarner, and it takes under 2 hours by car to get from Zagreb International Airport to Kvarner.
2. By car:
Kvarner, like the whole of Croatia, is well connected to the main road routes in Europe. If you are traveling by car, you can reach Kvarner via the E75 and E65 highways.

Sipar Beach is a two-kilometre-long pebble beach located in Moščenička Draga. Sipar Beach is awarded a Blue Flag which testifies to the excellent quality of the seawater. Deckchairs, umbrellas, and sports equipment are available for rent at the beach.
Ploče beach, in Rijeka, is a 14,000 square meter beach strip awarded with the Blue Flag. The beach consists of gravel and concrete parts. The entrance to the water is suitable for the disabled. The beach also features cafe bars and a large parking lot. Ploče beach can be reached by Rijeka city bus.
Vela Beach is naturally gravelly, and it is in the town of Baška on Krk Island. The sea is not deep and there is fine sand at the bottom. With shallow water and gradual entrance to the sea, the beach is suitable for children and non-swimmers. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water sports. Part of the beach is pet-friendly.
Veli žalis a pebbly beach near the town of Mali Lošinj, on Lošinj Island. Part of the beach is paved with stone slabs. Due to the gentle access to the sea, it is extremely popular with families with children, and it also has access to the sea suitable for people with reduced mobility.
