Description of the route

Via Brachia 36,7 kilometers long route is made of 10,9 kilometers of asphalt and 25,8 kilometers of macadam road. This bicycle route runs parallel with state road and at its highest point, it takes you over 400 meters above the sea. Going westbound to the Brac airport route there takes 180 degrees turn and runs back towards the starting point. Along the entire route, lots of rest stops can be found. These stops are ideal for taking a moment to rest and with all senses experience the beautiful, almost untouched, nature that surrounds you. You can almost feel the serenity that slowly overwhelms your entire body.

The starting point of Via Brachia is in the center of Selca, a small town known for beautiful stonemasonry work that can be found all over the town. The best example of Selca inhabitants’ skill is the Church of Christ the King that with its 45 meters high church tower stands in the middle of the town.

Also, in Selca, you will find a statue of Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy which is the first statue dedicated to this writer since it was erected soon after his death.

From Selca, Via Brachia takes you through and near towns and hamlets of Sumartin, Puntinak, Osridke, and Posmrčevik.
