The sounds of the River began in 2011 as Evenings by the Krka, a musical event aimed at promoting the upstream locations of the "Krka" National Park. Admission to all concerts is always free.

In the beginning, the evenings were held at the Roška waterfall, but Park wanted to encourage visitors to discover the unknown Krka, which is hidden upstream from Skradinski buk. This significantly reduced the workload of the most famous and most visited waterfall.
